the Schenectady GOP.
A year ago, he held both the county and Schenectady city GOP
chairmanships and he was also the $75,000-per-year Republican county
elections commissioner.

Ex-political leader pleads to violation

SCHENECTADY
Former Schenectady County Republican chairman Armando Tebano today
pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment, a violation, in connection
with an investigation of allegations he molested a 14-year-old girl at
his home.
Tebano was sentenced in city court to 250 hours of community service,
fined $295 and ordered to stay away from the girl.
The 38-year-old Schenectady man's trial was about to get underway when
he agreed to the plea bargain with James E. Conboy, the Montgomery
County district attorney who acted as a special prosecutor in the
case.
He faced up to a year in local jail if convicted of the three
misdemeanor charges against him - third-degree sexual abuse, forcible
touching and child endangerment - for allegedly grabbing the girl
while they watched a "Star Wars" movie at his Maryland Avenue home on
Aug. 31, 2005.
